Where should I do the CAP program for UT?

I want to do the CAP program for UT Austin. I don't know If I should choose UTA or UTSA. I did decide UTSA at one point, but then I called for housing and both Chaparral and Laurel Village were filled up, and that's where i wanted to stay, because I've heard and read nothing but negative reviews about the other 2 on campus places ( Univeristy Oaks and Chisholm Hall). I live in Dallas ( Irving area), so I live relatively close to UTA, however I still would get a dorm there. I feel that I could get a decent dorm there compared to at UTSA it wouldn't be nice at all, because the two good ones are gone. The problem is that I want to get away from home, but if it means living in a really bad dorm at UTSA i don't know If it's worth it. What should I do?

Side Note: I was admitted into SMU, so I can always go there for 1 year, then apply to UT. However, getting a high GPA will be much harder there, and I won't be guaranteed into UT in the same way I would be doing the CAP program.
There's no way that I am going to stay at SMU,UTA, or UTSA for all 4 years though.

Any advice or help? I would greatly appreciate it.

Just go UTA if you aren’t happy with housing at UTSA…

Go to a school you would be happy at for all four years. I just looked up some stuff and posted it on the Texas state forum for someone with a question about the CAP. Less than half of people who qualify actually transfer to UT. Someone pointed out that if they didn’t go CAP, they could go to whatever school they wanted to do and potentially transfer with a lower gpa and take the classes they want. If you’re certain that you can manage the 3.2 GPA and UT is your goal, why worry about a bad dorm for a year at UTSA or UTA? Go where you think you’ll get the best gpa. One person who did go to UTSA and transferred said she basically just focused on studying for the entire year.
