Hi, everyone. I am having hard time so I need your help! I want to major in International Studies/ Relations.

Among colleges I got accepted, University of Washington, Seattle; University of Cali, Irvine; and U of Miami are my top choices.

Location doesn't really matter because I am a foreigner so I don't get in-state tuition. And my family isn't in the states so I could go wherever I want to go :). I find all three locations very attractive in their own ways.

Moneywise, they are all affordable but I don't want to spend extra money, you know, if the education I would get in that school is not that worth it. UW is 29k, UCI is 36k, and UM is 39k

Did/do any of you attend one of those schools? Do you like it?
Or do you know someone who go/ went one?

Please help! I will greatly appreciated

hello Tiamo
you mentioned that you were from outside the US but not where from - I ask because UW and UCI both have a strong Asian representation and UM has a strong Latino representation. either of the 3 will offer an exciting opportunity to see the world differently

UCI is not a school with much nightlife and will truly require a vehicle to do much outside of the campus. UW in Seattle (our home town) certainly has a liberal feel to it and has excellent public transpotation. Miami is less known to me but the city is alive for sure…

you may want to research the areas other than educational reputations since all three will offer a fantastic education and a worthy spring-board for graduate schools. That said, there are not too many cities where being from out of the area are as intriguing to the locals as Seattle.

good luck!

I’m asian, and thank you! :)

If you have good grades and are serious about studying, then drop U of Miami from your list. The school advertises itself as a “Global University” but it’s mainly because it’s an easy in for folks from outside the country who can afford to pay the bill. Education not great.
