WHERE SHOULD I ED: NYU STERN OR WHARTON

I am a native New yorker and am in love with NYU, so I would love to go to stern, but I love Penn too because it has such an amazing program. I am so conflicted where I should ED. For either one of the schools, does it give you an advantage to ED?

Right now my ACT is a 31 composite (english: 29 math: 33 reading:30 sci: 33) but I plan to retake it in septemebr and hopefully get 33+ to put me in a better spot for these schools. My weighted and unweighted gpa are near a 4.0 if not over that. I took 3 SAT IIs and they are all in the high 600s (math 2, world history, and chem) but I am goin to retake some of them to get my score higher (especially Math 2) My ECs are very strong:

  • student council pres
-founder and pres of a service club
    -DECA vp
    -key club VP
    -Board of education sole representative
    -drama
    -Advanced science research
-member of a very selective committee with principal, parents, other admin, etc.

Penn Wharton is extremely hard to get into and no one in my school has ever gone to Wharton (or at least not recently).

Where do you think I have a better chance? Should I ED to neither and RD to both?

Please help :/// I’m so conflicted

Also, I have taken/will be taking 9 aps.
Sophomore year: ap world-4
junior year: US-4 lang-5 chem-3
senior year: calc AB (couldn’t fit bc into my schedule), macro, psych, literature, and french

All other classes are honors.

I would spend my time pondering what match schools to apply to instead of lottery schools.

If you are going to ED to one of those schools, ED 1 to Wharton and if that doesn’t work out you can always ED 2 to Stern. Just a warning even perfect applicants get rejected from Wharton.

Okay thanks. Do you mean schools that I will have a much better chance of getting into?

@yellowfade if i Ed 1 to Wharton, will i found out before the ED 2 date for stern?

@suzyQ7 okay thanks so much! So looking at my stats now, what undergrad business schools do you think would be match schools for me?

If you can raise your ACT (34+)and SAT (750+) significantly, you may have a shot at Wharton. You should apply ED to boost your chance. You can then ED II to Stern.

IMO you would have to raise your standardized test scores to be a competitive candidate to Wharton.
