<p>Crap, I just recieved the unofficial award notice from UCSB and surprizingly the amount of aid is much higher than I expected. As opposed to this, UCSD aids about 9k less than UCSB. To us OOSers, it’s a big difference. So going to UCSB, we only have to pay 20k but to UCSD, it’s 28k. Another problem is that I accepted the offer to UCSD already since I was thinking that the aid from UCSB is about the same in UCSD. But now, I really have to reconsider >.<. In addition, I am majoring in chem engineering, which means UCSB is superior to UCSD?
Please guide me, for now I don’t know what I should do.</p>

<p>Usually financial reasons are considered ok for making a change. Call the UCSD office of admissions and explain your situation (leave out the rankings).</p>
