Where should I go out of these 4?

Hi everyone! Most of my applications have come back now and the decision process is becoming real tough, so I thought I could take some opinions from CC'ers. What do you guys think the best choice is out of these 4? I'm definitely going to one unless I get into Cornell so I would love your opinions on these schools! (I'm going to be an international business major and am from MA if that helps. I also might work in HK after graduating because a lot of my family's there and I love it.)

University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh
SUNY Binghamton
Syracuse University
University of Delaware

I'll also list what I love about Cornell so if u see any similarities, let me know.

University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh
PROS: In the city (Really love the city), school spirit, good study abroad, was my first choice (Have a sweatshirt after getting in and everything), seems to be particularly on the rise.
CONS: Student body a little larger than the others (Altho not by too much), fairly expensive out of state, little farther from home than others.

SUNY Binghamton
PROS: Good business program (Others are too, but this one stands out ranking-wise), fairly cheap out of state.
CONS: No specific international business major, perceived lack of school spirit, campus not that visually appealing, most students from NY (More than Pitt for PA or UDel for DE), Binghamton not the best city, dad went here (Want something different lol).

Syracuse University
PROS: School spirit, good study abroad, seemingly more reputable in Boston area, has a hospitality management minor (Its an interest and I might want to open up a hotel later in life if that's possible. :) ).
CONS: No specific int'l business major, much more expensive than my other choices, seems to have a more suburban atmosphere (Want to get away from that), Syracuse not the best city.

University of Delaware
PROS: Great study abroad, beautiful campus, has a hotel school as well.
CONS: Suburban atmosphere, Newark not the best city, not as diverse as my other choices, fairly expensive out of state (Similar to Pitt), haven't got in here either but not a crazy reach like Cornell.

And what I love about Cornell University: City feel without being in a city, extremely prestigious, great business program, beautiful campus, very good financial aid, hotel school present for classes (Will be an AEM major if accepted), very diverse, stayed overnight and loved all the newly renovated dorms.

Thanks!

Cornell is awesome! I don’t understand what you mean by “city feel” and I’ve lived right by Cornell my entire life but oh well!

I would choose Bing or SU. Both really good schools.

I’m really not too familiar with any of the schools. (Which is bad because I’m technically a Syracuse University student) But I’m wondering where exactly you’re from. Syracuse and Binghamton are not bad areas, and like Sing, I’m wondering how you’re saying Ithaca has a city feel.
Of those I’d say Syracuse though. Unless you’re in a program like Honors at UDel.

gina - I wasn’t saying Cornell has a city feel. I was saying that I don’t think it does at all.

I said I agreed with you. Sorry if that was unclear.

Ha…Wow, I’m ■■■■■■■■. Read it wrong.

It’s alright. But yeah, I totally agree with you. I had to drive through so many farms to get up to Cornell it was ridiculous.

Yeah. It’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere. “Ithaca. 10 sq. miles surrounded by reality.” So true.

Intl. Business and you didn’t apply to USC (SC)? that would’ve been a great deal and would’ve probably netted you a scholarship with the schools ur lookin at.

Order, Best to Worst:
Cornell

Syracuse
Delaware
Pitt
Binghamton

Lol, I never mentioned Lehigh. I assume ur a PSU student? That school’s just too big for me. I’m sure its great.

I think U of S.Carolina is a little too far for me. I’m from a Boston suburb in Mass.

Syracuse and Binghamton aren’t terrible, they’re just small cities with industrial pasts and that industry has since left. I’m sure they’re fine cities, just not my idea of a quintessential college town. Newark, DE is actually like that too.

As for Cornell having a city feel, there’s lots of public transportation, lots of people, good diversity, and lots of amenities. The Collegetown area in particular right off campus I think feels like a really small city downtown. I know its surrounded by miles of nothing, but the campus and its immediate area just seemed very lively and built up to me, like a city. Maybe cosmopolitan is a better word?

Any other opinions?

Bump, anyone else?

I actually applied to all four of these schools. I will most likely be attending Syracuse (or possibly Mizzou) because of the awesome journalism program, but as far as business goes, I know Binghamton’s is absolutely top notch. My dad went to Bingo and everyone he has introduced me to from there has gone on to be fairly successful. That said, Syracuse is a great school with a great pricetag. Pitt and Delaware are good as well.

TPL09-
Did you hear from Syracuse or Delaware yet? We have not.

I’d choose Pitt if Cornell doesn’t come through. Did you get into the honors college? (Assuming you would have a shot if you are a viable Cornell candidate.)

Obviously Cornell, but I’d say Syracuse is the best choice out of the others. I know Syracuse isn’t the greatest place ever, but I think it’s not much different from Ithaca or Binghampton except it’s a little bigger.

Crazed, I just heard from Syracuse yesterday and have not from UDel yet.

As for Pitt Honors College, I actually did not get in. My SAT was 20 points off, and my ACT was a point off… I’m not that viable of a Cornell candidate, it was my farthest reach. :(

Bumpp, anyone else?

Delaware because the former Wharton Dean was elected President there… :D

In case you’re awaiting Delaware still, you can log in on the UDel site to check whether or not you were admitted.

Good luck

Thanks goalmachine15, I didn’t know there was a separate site for seeing if u got in versus checking if u had everything in. I got in! :)

Now that I’m in all 4 of the schools besides Cornell, any new opinions?
