I have narrowed the list down to 4 but am struggling to make a final decision.
I will be studying biology as a pre-dental next year and am mainly concerned with how these schools will prepare me for dental school and the strength of their undergrad STEM programs. The four schools with their cost of attendance for one year (after aid) are…
University of Florida ($6,488)
University of Maryland ($12,048)
University of Pittsburgh ($0)
University of Wisconsin ($15,382)
I did not get admitted to the honors college at any schools but did get into bioFIRE at UMD which allows for more research opportunites than are available to the general student body.
I like to narrow my choices when facing multiple options.
For me. Pitt and UF make a lot of sense even aside from the money.
Now you have a much simpler decision set.
UF. Warm, big and really great. A lot of success placing pre health students in terms of total numbers each year. Fun place with a pretty important Greek presence socially. No one really lives on campus much after sophomore year. Many after freshman year. Not much to do in town. Sports scene is pretty fantastic for students. Top 10 public Uni.
PItt. More urban but not a downtown NYU GW or BU feel. It’s surrounded by parks including a golf course and world class museums. Med school and UPMC medical system intertwined with campus. Up and coming public university with a wonderful reputation. Pittsburgh has a lot to do and wonderful people.
Congrats on the great choices and best of luck to you!!!
