Where should I go? (UC Related)

I’ve been accepted to UCB, UCLA, UCSD and couple other ones. I want to go to a competitive med-school. Berkeley has been my dream school ever since I started looking into colleges and career paths. If I go to Berkeley, I’m going to major in Chemistry or Molecular and Cell Biology. If I go to UCLA, I’m probably going to major in Biology as well. Now, Berkeley is very close to my house and UCLA is not. I have a problem in my colon and my parents want me to stay close to home, which I don’t mind. I’m also going to visit both schools next month, but I doubt that it will be that big of a deal since I’ve been to both campuses and love both the environments. Here’s the question, will the fact that Berkeley doesn’t have a med-school and UCLA does, make a big difference in my admittance to a decent med-school. If I attend UCB, I can do my internship and volunteer work, etc., at a hospital in San Francisco, since I have a car. Which school should I attend, considering that my parents don’t want me to go far away. Will it make a huge difference and should I try to convince my parents to send me to UCLA?

I don't think that should make a difference at all. like you said, you can intern at a hospital in San Francisco for experience.

I think you should go for UC Berkeley.

it's your dream school and it's near where you live.. i would say UCB.

UCB rocks, and besides, if you have health problems, its much safer to be near home. no point in going to a school with a "better" pre-med program if you're dead =P
