i am an international student.
So I have been accepted in Texas A&M, Purdue, Iowa state, and Arizona state for electrical engineering.
now the thing is that Iowa state is offering me scholarship for about 10000$ while Arizona is offering only 4000$
Purdue and texas A&M are offering no scholarship. where should go your opinion ? are Iowa state and Arizona state good engineering universities ?
Why did you apply to Iowa State and Arizona State if you didn’t already know they were good engineering universities? If you prefer one of your other schools, can you afford to go without a scholarship?
as safeties and I know they are good universities. what I mean is if I go to iowa state or Arizona instead of the others would I be missing on to a good education ?
@Massmomm
How much is the total cost of each school and what can you afford?
your answer will depend on what your family can comfortably afford.
As far as how good they are in engineering look up whether or not they are ABET accredited in EE.
All of their engineering schools are ABET accredited so what you’ll learn at each is comparable. Also, don’t even look at how much scholarship any one school is offering. What concerns you is * how much does each cost*?
If one college offers you $20,000 off of a $50,000 tuition bill but another offers you $4,000 off of a $32,000 tuition bill, go to the second one.
Can your family afford four years of this? You know that in you visa application, you’reg going to have to prove your ability to pay and evidence that you will NOT stay in the USA afterward.
Iowa State and Arizona State are both reputable universities. I’d follow the money, unless the thought of long cold winters is a major deterrent.
ok guys thanks ,I can afford all of them, who doesn’t like saving money that is the reason I am asking. I can afford all of them for four years but if I go to iowa state of Arizona state would that be a bad decision ?

It would not be a bad decision.
Did you get into the Honors College at Arizona State? Barrett is outstanding so that’d totally tip the hand there.
If you didn’t apply, do so - they “expedite” international applications. If you get in, it’d be a top choice.
If you don’t get into Barrett at ASU, I’d go with Purdue (provided you can indeed afford them all).
what about Iowa state engineering ? @MYOS1634
Iowa State Engineering is good. But Barrett (ASu’s Honors College) is one of the top Honors Colleges in the country, with its own luxury mini campus, so ASU Engineering + Barrett would be better than Iowa State.
(You can also apply to ISU Honors of course).
so if we leave the Honors college out of the equation.
Is iowa state university engineering comparadble to those of purdue or texas a&m or better than Arizona ?
or its reputation
@MYOS1634
I would put Purdue and TX A&M above Iowa State. IMO both of those schools have more of a national reputation for engineering. I really don’t know anything about Iowa State but as long as it is ABET accredited, it should be fine…
I agree with @happy1’s assessment, but you really can’t go wrong at any of those schools.
I agree with previous posters. Purdue and Texas A&M are the better of these schools you listed. If money is not a deciding factor, choose one of these two!
Between these ones, look at the locations and see what you think will be a better fit for you!
Congrats on your acceptances, these are all amazing engineering programs!
No, Purdue is better. But Iowa State is decent. It’s the difference between good and great. If the price difference is big, is it worth it? It could well be a little price difference and be worth it for you.
I’d say Purdue> TAMU>IOwaState>ASU for ABET-accredited programs
BUT
Purdue=ASU Barrett> TAMU>Iowa State
So, admission to Barrett would make a lot of difference (Barrett outcomes are really, really good.)
Did you get into your major at Purdue and TAMU (this isn’t guaranteed, and there are few pre-admits. If you’re not a pre-admit, you compete with all other freshmen to get into the major.)
at purdue I got into electrical engineering but at Texas a&m I am going to attend the general engineering classes where as at both ASU and Iowa state I am going to attend electrical engineering classes
