People, I like the pacific NW, the Northern Rockies, and New England. I think nature, hippies, and snow are cool. So basically thats my college outline. Oh and I want to go to a state school. I have a loow GPA (2.9), but Im in the IB program and every course including electives has been AP/IB, and in 9th grade Pre-IB/Honors and I have a strong upward trend (My Junior year GPA is 3.7). My SAT is about 1400. Where should I go/could I get into. BTW im (barely) in the top 50% of my class. My EC's are a little weak too. I like U-Oregon, Oregon State, U-Washington, Washington State, U-Idaho, U-Montana, U-Colorado, Colorado State, U-Maine, U-Conn, U-Mass, U-New Hampshire, U-Vermont.

I know it's not in your desired area, but check out UNCA and Warren Wilson. I'm from the Asheville (NC) area, and those are full of "nature lovers and hippies." They're great schools. And we do have snow. But I think U-Vermont is a really great choice.

I didn't even think about Asheville, I love Asheville --Great place.

UVM would be the place that you would want to go...You'd prob. get a lot of scholarship money coming from out of state.
