Where Should I go

Uhh.
I am a new member here.
Fortunately, I got pretty good SSAT Score.
I am applying for Deerfield, Hotchkiss, Concord, and Loomis Chaffe
If I get accepted for these schools, where will be the best one?

Help me

I am not an expert but if they all accepted you, I would decide between Deerfield and Hotchkiss according to which I preferred. You can never be sure though, you may love one of the others

Have you had your school visits & interviews yet? A school visit will help you decide in which environment you feel most comfortable. Deerfield & Hotchkiss are somewhat similar in feel and tradition. If you decide that a US boarding school is what you want for your high school education, you might consider adding a few more schools that are not as competitive as the 4 you selected. Remember that in general, people do not apply to a school unless they believe they can be accepted. As a result, the applicant pool in a very competitive school is impressive.

You should know that a top ssat score does not guarantee admission to any US school. I will search for a thread called “Rate the following” and bump it up for you. Because you are from Vancouver, you might also consider a few of the US boarding schools in California.

The best school is the one in which you will thrive. My suggestion is to consider that as you research schools.

Good luck!

I’d go to Deerfield first, then Hotchkiss, Concord, then Loomis.

Don’t worry about this until 10 March.

Actually, if you get into all of them, you’re going to make your decision after March 10 – following revisits in April.

That’s assuming you actually apply to all of them after you do the tours and interviews. But all we know about you is that you’re male, from Canada and you “got pretty good SSAT Score.” We can’t possibly help you make an intelligent choice as to which one of those schools – if any – are good for you.

If you want some advice with more immediate application, I would warn you not to be too confident that your SSAT Score will open any doors for you. A pretty good SSAT Score – even a 99%ile score – does little more than not close doors for you. That kind of score is nice to have in your back pocket, but it doesn’t get you in to any of the schools you mentioned. And since you’re offering your SSAT score in the course of asking for advice about the wisest choice, I hope you don’t think that your SSAT score tells us anything that we (or you) can use to choose a boarding school that will be a good fit.

I agree with prettyckitty.

go to the schools that you get into. trust me, one of them is going to “click” with you!

but i also wouldn’t be too worried yet because first you actually have to get IN to the schools, hahaha. good luck!
