Where should I live?

Hi! I'm looking at housing for Pitt for fall of 2014 and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for which dorm I should choose? I'm between Sutherland and the Towers. My debate is...

Sutherland seems secluded from the rest of the campus because it is quite far away. I see this as a good thing in that I won't be surrounded by party-central all the time/it will be quieter/etc. But is it too far away?
LIkewise, the Towers worry me because I have heard that it's all party all the time. But, I think it's also beneficial how the Towers are right at the hub of campus, lots of social opportunities, etc.

So I guess my question is who lives in these dorms and what do you think of it?

@0BCFMC There are lots of previous discussions on this forum on this subject. Just type Sutherland in the search field. The net of it is, yes Sutherland (and Panther and PA for upper classmen) are a walk up the hill, but it is a bit quieter. My son loved both Sutherland and Panther and they are huge dorms so there is always something going on. The rooms are MUCH nicer than Towers and they are much easier when you move in and out. Yes, they aren’t as convenient to classroom buildings but the shuttle runs often and you can use the escalators in the Pete most times of the day.

Sutherland is a literally a [10 minute downhill walk](Google Maps) to the William Pitt Union. Pitt is extremely condensed. Hill or not, you are not actually far away from anything else on campus at any point on campus.

Sutherland is also right across the street from two major residence halls, Panther Hall and Pennsylvania Hall, as well as the major fraternity housing facilities, and the major athletic complexes and student recreation centers. If you like Sutherland better, and it is nicer than the towers, then I wouldn’t worry about it not being close enough to the center of campus.
