The OP should get into Chapman and Loyola Marymount and even Pepperdine. It will be a reach for some other schools.

probably not Pepperdine…

Pepperdine has a good business program though. It’s not that hard to get into, it depends on what the person thinks of religion too.

the OP’s SAT scores are kind of low, he should definitely think about retaking them in the fall or looking at the ACT as an option since some people who score low on the SAT do better on the ACT

Welcome to CC - see your new here. You might want to post a little more info like GPA unweighed / weighed, SAT breakdown CR/Math/Writing. And anything else that you think would help people assist you… But that’s all up to you…

I def. agree with Pierre, I would retake the SAT or take the ACT.

Do I really have the grades to get into Richmond?

In my opinion, no

I would still apply to Richmond, but as a reach school. You never know if you’ll get in or not if you don’t apply. Good Luck!

Would I really have a chance at getting in? I dont think I have the grades for it

My grades are 3.34 unweighted GPA, 3.4 Wieghted, SAT’s I got CR/500/ M/580 Wr/510, and plan on taking them again in September as well as the ACT’s. I have pretty good EC’s, student council treasurer, Mass. Boys State participant, debate club founder, key club member, yearbook committee advisor, 2 jobs, and know some very prestigious poets that have connections at different colleges. It wouldn’t be a hard thing for me to get maybe 3 letters of recomendation. I took the AP Language and Composition exam and am waiting for my score, probably a 3 or 4. Hopefully that give you guys a better idea of who I am.

early_college, I think Richmond is just beyond a “reach” school

I don’t really have my heart set on Richmond, so its not that big of a deal, what do you guys think about my prospective colleges after seeing my extra curriculars? I forgogt to add that I also have played varsity golf for 3 years,(going on four), hockey, and baseball.

well since most of the business schools in the areas you are looking for are public schools, they place more emphasis on grades and SAT scores and not as much on extracurricular

So what about a final list, sifting out the schools that would be a far reach for me, reach/match is fine but I’m sort of looking for some match schools.

well out of all the business schools in the country, here’s a list of potential reach, match, and safety schools that are really good imo

Safety:
Northern Illinois, Tennessee, Rutgers - Newark, Georgia State, Florida International, Temple, Iowa State, St. Joseph’s

Match:
Arizona, DePaul, John Carroll, Bryant, Michigan State, James Madison, Illinois-Chicago, Akron, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa, NC State, Missouri, Purdue, Oklahoma, Texas, Hofstra, Nebraska, Arkansas, Ohio, Baylor, Virginia Tech, Xavier, Drexel, Colorado State

Reach:
San Diego, TCU, Bentley, Cal Poly, Chapman, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Fordham, South Florida, Loyola, Pittsburgh, Oregon, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Belmont, UMass, South Carolina,

DEFINITELY WORK ON BRINGING THAT SAT SCORE UP!!! (or consider taking the ACT)

The Fox School of business would not be a safety with a 3.34 and a 1080.

Thanks for everything, and yes, all summer I will work on bringing that SAT score up

How is Arizona State a reach school?

good point, probably a match or safety
