Where should I look?

I am not sure what colleges would be good to attend. I've tried to research but I just can't seem to find anywhere I am really interested in. Any suggestions? (but my scores are pretty tentative since I took the SAT awhile ago, so hopefully I can improve) I listed my stats/ECs give a better idea of what I'm interested in

I would like a small to medium sized coed college. I'm not sure what I want to major in but I want to be a lawyer. If they had wrestling(divI,II, III) that would be an extra bonus. Also I'd like normal semesters not a weird 4 sem. course. Of course I'd like a pretty campus. Diversity isn't a big deal for me, but as far as politics I would prefer an equally split liberal/conservative campus. East coast would be preferable. A greek system would also be desirable. I've done all the college searches on PR/CB but nothing really caught my eye.

Not east coast, but SMU in Dallas.
Not liberal/conservative split, but Washington & Lee

Perhaps Virginia or Richmond?

What state do you live in?

FL...so my top pick in FL is UF..but the downside is how large it is.

Thanks for the info..I was considering something in TX.

I doubt I could get into UVa OOS, but I've thought about it.

As far as being split it's not a must. I just don't want a polar extreme, like extremely liberal or really conservative.

Thanks again for the suggestions and I will check those out.

Wash & Lee is REALLY conservative...it's probably not for you.

UT-Austin is really large, but it does fit your other requirements (that is, if you think an urban campus can be pretty. I think it's a very nice campus, but it doesn't really have grassy areas).

And I don't know what colleges offer wrestling. But I think they are in the midwest.

Urban/Suburban/Rural?

isn't SMU pretty conservative also? wrestling's not that big of a deal anyway...it's just my favorite sport so I'd like to go somewhere that had it (but yeah not a huge deal)

I don't like the idea of it being really rural but other than that I'm flexible.

As far as SMU being conservative...on the national scale I would say that yes, it is conservative, but as far as Texas standards (note that Texas is quite a conservative state - I say socialized medicine is good and people at my high school say I was Lenin in a previous life) it is moderate. Or even apathetic. But it's a very preppy, rich school and George W. lived in Highland Park for a few years so it is conservative on a national scale.

You might like Amherst and Williams in Massachusetts. They would be reaches, but they are very good LACs. Williams is kindof rural though.

Besides being rural, Dartmouth, Colgate, Hamilton, Bucknell seem to fit what you're talking about. Otherwise, Tufts, Lehigh, Lafayette, Union could be appropriate. There's not that many good, small to medium sized schools with a Greek system that aren't rural.

Thanks guys.

I like Dartmouth a ton...unfort. it's an Ivy which makes my chances slim and they have a really strange 10 week system (D-Plan?)

"There's not that many good, small to medium sized schools with a Greek system that aren't rural."

hah yeah I think that's why I'm having trouble... :)

Bucknell is like a less prestigious Dartmouth. http://www.bucknell.edu

Rice (not Greek)
Lehigh
UMiami - kinda big ?
Rollins
Rhodes
Vanderbilt
Rollins - safety

Raised SAT to a 2270 so hopefully that will help a little and give me more hope to apply to reaches.

does anyone know if these suggested schools focus more on the old scale (since I got an 800 and 690/1490) or the new scale? Thanks again.

Duke
Vanderbilt
Wake Forest

trinity college or colgate. do you wrestle? or just a fan?
