Where should I send a thank you note?

I interviewed for Brandeis on Friday. The interview was at the office of a company for which he is on the Board of Trustees. He doesn't work there on a regular basis, so I'm not sure where to send a note. It was a great interview, and the interviewer was very nice, so I'd really like to thank him, but I just don't know where to send it. Should I find his home address and send it there? Send it to him care of the company for which he's a trustee?

Most of the interviewers gave my daughter their business cards at the end of the interview. If he didn't, I would say send it to him in care of that company. I'm sure it would get to him.

If you send it to the company, they will find him. Good for you for wanting to send a thank you card.....blech to email thank you

Though I much prefer handwritten notes, I personally know some admissions counselors at both large universities and small colleges who have told me they actually prefer to get emails from students. You can imagine the volume of mail these people get. A thank you note is just another envelope they have to open and another piece of paper they have to put somewhere. Email is more efficient for them to handle. A thank you is a thank you - it is appreciated any way you send it.

I've gotten exactly one thank you note so far (in email form) - so, just the interviewer perspective - it would be awesome to get a thank you note, and I don't care where it's addressed.

There are two ways to do this:
*Send it to the company care of him
*Call up the company (main switchboard?) and let them know that you are trying to send a note to thank him for the interview. Most people will think it's so darn great of you to even try to send one that they might be able to give you a better address. Just ask if he has another business address (not his home address).

Re: business cards at the end of the meeting - never thought about that - I'll do that from now on!
