Where should I start?

-background info
I am an upcoming junior and I really wanna give it my all this year since I will be sending college app by the end of junior year. This is my last chance because senior grade is not really taken seriously. I did horrible last year as a sophomore. However, now I have a goal in mind and I am willing to do anything to achieve it.

I wanna volunteer and work outside of school, but I just have no idea where to start? Where to begin? I've tried volunteering at the local library, but it is so boring. Having to shelve books everyday, I think it is just a waste of time. I wanna volunteer somewhere that is fun and helpful. I live in Georgia BTW if anyone could hook me up with some places.

Long story short
- junior, looking for EC's , volunteer service
- any good enjoyable clubs at school? I have a wide range of interest.
- this is my last shot, so I am giving it my all

Question: Should I take as many AP's this year since I will be sending my college app by the end of junior year. I was thinking of AP computer science, AP Lang, AP Psych?

Why are you sending college apps by the end of junior year? Most people send them in fall/winter of senior year, so unless you’re doing something nontraditional senior year… that said, senior year grades and schedule are also exceedingly important.

Junior year is crucial as well though. As for APs, take as many as you think you can handle.

Your attitude toward volunteering is bad. Sometimes you have to do menial work, and it probably isn’t a waste of time. Join clubs that you care about. There are no “right” clubs or clubs that are “good enjoyable” for all people.

I have volunteered at a service for handicapped children. It was 10x better than volunteering at a local library. As for the clubs, my school isn’t really informative about them.

You’re downplaying the weight that senior schedule/grades have on admissions.
