Where should I transfer?

Hello everyone!

I am a student as a state school in North Carolina (Not UNC). I am working on my second year, but due to community college classes I took in HS and summer classes, I will be a junior at the end of this semester. I REALLY don’t like the school I am at right now. I am in the business program and have not been happy with the quality of the classes. Along with not having a high opinion of the business program, I have had an insane amount of trouble making friends. My school is mostly a commuter school and was most people’s second to third choice. Probably irrelevant, but around a quarter of people graduate in four years. I could go on and on about every little thing.

I would like transfer out. I don’t know where though. I am hoping to go somewhere relatively inexpensive or that provides a reasonable amount of aid. Mainly looking for a decent business school.

College
46 Credit Hours (61 at time of transfer)
3.91 GPA
4.0 GPA In Major related classes

I doubt it matters anymore but,
High School
3.7 UW GPA
24 ACT (This is what killed me originally)
Various extracurriculars.

I really appreciate anyone taking the time to help.

Note: I would go to UNC, but it would take a semester to get into the business school. I would then be 1-2 semesters late.

When you have that many credits, your ACT and High School GPA won’t even be requested. Your college GPA is strong and you should be able to get into a good state school but as you say, there might be delays in getting into your desired major which will put off your graduation. As a transfer student, you will not get much financial aid, but in state tuition will still be lower than at a private university. There are some private universities which have decent transfer aid but your main criterion should be to find a school with the major you want and have it be that you can finish in 2 years. Start with that as the priority.

UNC’s transfer admissions is veryyyyyy competitive. But your college record looks very good.
