Texas, let your parents and others know that you are interested in getting a job. Also check out the school guidance office for job notices. That's how I found my last job at a university school of medicine. Word-of-mouth also works very well as I also have a small job during my break.

TPC at Woodlands is a nice course

but they dont have any jobs for 15 year olds.. should i call them and ask?

one word: nepotism

"I want to work at Target"

NO YOU DON'T!!! I've been working there for like 7 months and it's ridiculous how oppressively corporate they are.

First of all, they time you on how fast you ring up transactions (when you're a cashier), and if you're now sufficiently fast they management gets really ****ed. The thing is, there are so many customers who don't know how to use the credit card machine or who always insist on giving you exact change or want to write out checks, all of which slows you down. You still get penalized.

And the REDcards. OMG. You have a quota of Target credit cards that you have to get people to sign up for or else the management goes BALLISTIC. REDcards are really the standard by which they measure employee permormance. It doesn't matter how nice you are, how many peoples' shifts you cover, how many customer compliments you get, if you don't meet your quota you are in deeeeep shiznat.

And you only get a 10% discount, even on the holidays, which is total BS. Also, you can't use the discount with credit or debit cards UNLESS it's a target card.

I've worked a lot of the areas of the store (sales floor, cashier, customer service, food avenue) and no matter what job you have there is ALWAYS way more to do than you have time for. It's very stressful, and at my store at least the management is generally not very sympathetic.

I guess the good thing is that they pay pretty well, and you basically get to pick when and how many hours you work each week. Is it worth it? Who knows. But I hear Walmart is worse, so i guess i can't complain.

I think that for teenagers, its much more worthwhile to work for a small business than for a national corporation like Target or Macdonalds.

I'm pretty sure Kroger or Randall's hires people under 16.
