Where the heck should I apply?!

<p>Junior in high school. White. Average student? PA resident.</p>

<p>I want to major in Secondary Education to become a biology/environmental science teacher.</p>

<p>Where should I apply?!!?!?!</p>

<p>Here are my classes/grades up to 11th grade:
(Academic classes are a step down from honors and are unweighted classes, just in case your schools called it something other than that)</p>

<p>9th grade
Choir - A
Academic Biology - A
Wellness - A
Gym - A
Academic Algebra I - B
Spanish I - A
Academic English - B
Academic History - A
Total GPA - 3.75
UW - 3.75</p>

<p>10th grade
Academic Algebra II -B
Spanish II - B
Honors US History - A
Honors English - B
Academic Physics -A
Wellness - A
Gym - A
Total GPA: 3.71
UW - 3.62</p>

<p>11th grade (projected grades)
Spanish III - A
Honors English - A
Honors World Cultures - A
Honors Chemistry - B

AP Environmental Science - A
Academic Geometry - A
Total GPA: 4.231
UW - 3.8-3.9ish</p>

<p>Top 22% as of end of sophomore year. Probably up to top 20% or so by now??
I was 117/530-something last year.</p>

<p>12th grade classes I signed up for - AP European History, AP Language & Composition, AP Biology, Academic Pre-calculus, Honors Spanish IV, German I</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
JV Tennis - 9th grade
Varsity Tennis - 10, 11, & 12th grade
Yearbook Staff - 9, 10, 11, & 12th grade
National Honor Society - 11 & 12th grade</p>

<p>Leadership:
Yearbook editor - 11th & 12th grade
Tennis captain - will be in 12th grade</p>

<p>Awards:
Most improved player - 9th grade tennis
Best serve - 9th grade tennis
Spirit award - 10th grade varsity tennis
Distinguished Honor Roll - Every quarter since 9th grade</p>

<p>I'm taking the ACTs in June.</p>

<p>I think I want to apply to DePaul University, Penn State University Park, Marquette University, and UWisconsin- Madison.</p>

<p>Thoughts/Comments/Suggestions?</p>

<p>register and consult the Counselor-O-Matic. it will suggest schools to you based on your stats, activities, preferences, etc.</p>

<p>The Princeton review was of no help to me. They suggested schools such as Harvard or Princeton and clearly, my stats do not match up to those kinds of schools</p>

<p>You seem like a good fit for Penn State University Park. You should definitely try to make a visit.</p>

well you haven't taken any standardized tests yet.</p>

<p>I put in 500s for all of my scores and still got ivy league schools.</p>

well they probably would have been consider "reaches." the Counselor-O-Matic isn't going to say, "You have no chance in hell of getting into this school."</p>
