The Crucible recently opened on Broadway. Many of the cast members do not list where they studied in the Playbill or in any interviews that I googled. Many were not born/raised in the US, so their colleges may not be ones we’d be aware of anyway. Some are young (college age and younger) and some have not attended (if you know where any studied, leave a comment). Here’s what I found about the rest:

These cast/production team members do not list a college:

Jan Versweyveld–Scenic/Lighting Design
Wojciech Dziedzic–Costume Design
Tal Yarden–Video Design
Cast:

Elizabeth Teeter (young)
Ray Anthony Thomas

The following cast members attended RADA:
Ben Whishaw

I just took in Bright Star on Broadway. It’s a new musical by Steve Martin & Edie Brickel (and a terrific show). Here is the training for the cast including the dance captain/swing. It’s worth noting that there are plenty of non-MT majors in this musical.

Michael Mulheren –
A.J. Shively – University of Michigan BFA
Hannah Elless – Western Michigan BFA musical theatre
Stephen Bogardus – Princeton
Dee Hoty – Otterbein College
Stephen Lee Anderson –
Emily Padgett – AMDA 2-year program

(it wasn’t that easy tracking down some of these, so apologies if I got anything wrong in my searches)

Aww, @Delegator ! I’m sorry you went to all that trouble–that list is on the ‘Musical Theater Major’ discussion but thank you–and feel free to add any others! It’s also good to see tours, regional, and off-broadway shows if you want to hit those too

Ah, I see it down on page 5 in that forum. I guess everything can’t be a sticky… Thanks!

Long Day’s Journey Into Night opened this week. Here’s where the cast and creative team studied (if this isn’t a testament to getting a job without the holy grail of college programs, I don’t know what is!):

Gabriel Byrne–University of Dublin (studied archaeology and worked as an archaeologist. Started acting at 29, studying in theater schools in Dublin)

J David Brimmer is a professor at NYU (he teaches combat) idk if he is also a graduate of the university

@toowonderful thanks–he lists himself as a graduate from NYU Tisch class of 1981 in a couple of places. I think as people get more and more experience under their belts, they stop listing their colleges, but in an older bio he lists his education.

@lovetoact- thanks for checking into that. I only knew what he was doing at NYU now
