Where to advise daughter to look.

My daughter is a rising senior at an academically challenging private school. Unfortunately, she had a tough junior year and her grades suffered. She currently has a 3.2 GPA. Her ACT is a 31 and her two AP's were a 4 in US history and a 5 in English Lit. She is gifted in studio art and has a ton of classes under her belt from a number of challenging (RISD included) schools. DD is looking for a college/university near a big city with a strong fine art's program on the East Coast.

Many thanks for any suggestions!

Boston University?

I second B.U. if those are her criteria.

Some of these may not meet all of what she is looking for but maybe American, Syracuse, RIT and Rutgers. Best of luck!

Many of the schools suggested so far are not LAC. Have a look at Skidmore, Wheaton (in Mass.), Ursinus, Muhlenberg. Not all are in cities, it is actually a challenge to find LACs in or near cities. All these schools are worth checking out though.
