Where to apply ED

hello folks

should I apply to cornell or carnegie mellon for ED? which school do i have a higher chance of getting in? I'm kind of undecided between the two. went on the campus tours and love both of them. eek :S

I have a strong interest in CIS and IT. i have been fiddling around with windows servers and other programs for quite awhile. i have several computers in my house and try to learn various aspects of networking, OS, and all that good stuff. Tried to tinker around with ISA server but didn't work out :P
One of the things i want to do is provide consulting for other people's computing needs. Anything from big enterprise level to the typical small business.

Thanks!!

based on your interest in cs, i would definitely say apply to cmu. but really, i have no idea because you need to decide which of the schools you absolutely, definitely, for sure want to go to. If neither really fits that description wait for RD. If they both do make a decision. You don't want to apply to a school ED just because it is either to get into if you don't love it.

Every year, around January, the same messages are posted here. They go something like this: "I applied ED to XYZ University, got in, and now I'm having second thoughts. Would I have also gotten into ABC University? In fact, now that I think about it, I really like ABC University MUCH better than XYZ. Can I get out of my ED acceptance at XYZ?"

Don't let this be you. Only apply ED if you have a CLEAR preference for a particular school and are sure you won't have regrets once you're locked in there or or wonder "what if?" about other schools that you'll be giving up in the process.

In short, think a little bit more about the differences between Cornell and CMU, and decide which one is right for YOU, not because you're afraid of being rejected if you don't rush to apply ED. Find the school that truly makes your heart sing, makes you feel at home, makes you feel you can only picture yourself there. That's your ED choice.

this is a bit off topic, but what are some other good schools for computer science OR information systems?

i found georgia tech ... how is University of Illinoise Urbana-Champaign (someone said this in my previous threads)? is tufts okay for computers?

Foxconn, I sent you a PM with some suggestions and links.
