Where is the best place to buy books on campus, TIS or the IU bookstore? Which has better prices, better selection, higher quality used books, easiest to get the books?

Most students visit both places and buy where they can get the better deal.

They also check out the online discount booksellers.

What is TIS?

TIS is a private bookstore on 3rd street, south of campus. Here's a link: http://www.tisbookiu.com/

I like doing it at the school's bookstore because I can put it on my Bursar bill and have my parents pay for it, haha.

Getting books in Bloomington is a rip off. Do it before you come down, buy them online.

How do you find out what books are required for your courses?

One approach is to go to the bookstore site. Once you know your schedule, you can plug in Fall 07 and select by class and section. This will pull up the ISBN # and the new and used prices.

At TIS, http://www.tisbookiu.com/purchbook.cfm you can start purchasing books on July 16th, so one would hope that the books listed then would be the appropriate titles and editions.

Once you are confident that you have the correct titles/editions, you can use the ISBN # to order the books from whatever source you choose.

Our dorm tour guide said he always uses TIS for the best prices at IUB.

you should go either TIS or IMU to buy books
