I need some current univ. students to share with me some tips on where to look for second-hand textbooks in the US. I checked some required books' prices and they are very expensive.
Is there an internal website at Emory for second books trading or something like that? Or do you guys don't buy books yourselves and read them at library?

i've used both half and amazon for textbooks, all under $22. almost all were brand new or just in excellent condition. half is really cheap, i didn't spend more than like $10.

Campusi.com is a good price aggregator, but for me last semester, I looked online and the prices weren't really any better than bookstore prices, ended up spending like $750+ on books/calculator. It depends very heavily on what types of classes you take, but many use new editions which have no used copies online or custom text packages that you can't find anywhere else. It sucks, but there's really nothing you can do except suck it up and pay. Reading at the library isn't practical, but you might get a little of your money back at the end of the year by selling back.

ebay has always worked for me
and emory DOES have internal network (learnlink: class comments) where people can post if they want to sell/buy textbooks. but then those textbooks usually get sold in the first week so don't bet on them so much
