i'm not sure if it's even necessary to bunk the beds or make them higher to fit the desks underneath since the rooms are big enough (IMO) unless you've signed up for the Bridge program. In that case, your dorm will me Metcalf Hall. The rooms are quite small on the West side, but are much bigger (almost twice the size) on the East side. However, I personally love the West side because it's very nice and cozy. We really connected on the West side and it felt like a big family.

Ikea is far away! It's almost impossible to get their without a car. Trust me on this one. I agree that it's a good idea to find out who your roommate is and if he/she is from the New England area, ask(nicely) your roommate to bring the stuff. I think it's a better idea to get to Tufts first then start buying stuff because you will realize that you have stuff that you never actually use. With the exception of stores like Ikea and Costco which are not within the MBTA system (public transportation), there are many shopping locations available. So don't pack heavy or else your move-out day in May will be HELLLLLLL!

Congrats and goodluck!
