Hey guys

New to the boards but I'm really looking forward to college next year. I'm hoping to attend UCLA, USC, or maybe another SoCal school and am wondering where you guys purchased your furniture and mattresses etc. for school? so excited

If you’re living in the dorms, some basic furniture (beds, desk, dresser) is provided for you.

If you’re living in an unfurnished apartment off campus, Ikea is a store with lots of variety and reasonable prices.

Yah you won’t need to buy/bring a mattress, just sheets and a pillow for your bed for the dorms.

what about if my girlfriend want to stay with me ???

There’s not really room to put an extra mattress unless you have a double with a lofted bed.

^Twin extra long sheets are nothing out of the ordinary and I strongly advise to refrain from purchasing from any catalog you receive in the mail. The sheets are expensive and low quality.

I recommend purchasing you sheets from either Walmart, JCPenny, or Macy’s if you want something nicer. Burlington Coat Factory also (sometimes) has quality twin XL sheets at a discount.

I recommend buying a mattress pad! While a mattress is provided if you’re staying in the dorms, mattress pads make the bed that much comfier. I have the bottom bunk in a triple shared plaza and people are always amazed by how comfortable my bed is. I got mine for $15 at a Target sale before school started. Wait until the month before to buy your things! :D

Sit ‘n’ Sleep
“You’re Killing me Larry!”

I posted this in another thread too, but I just moved up to LA and had the same question. I bought mine from socalstudentmattress.com and it only cost me $350 for a new queen-sized pillow top. They delivered it for free and set it up in my room for me. Only downside was they had no showroom for me to check out the mattress beforehand, but I rolled the dice because of their lax return policy. I was happy with the outcome, I love my mattress. Huge step up from those latex dorm beds!

Do any of you guys know if you can ask for a new mattress is the one they give you sucks and is deflated ? The center of my mattress just sinks in, it is not firm at all. If I requested a new mattress at the sproul front desk, would they replace it ?

westwood probably has some!

Our Prices start at $99.99 for foam mattress and we DO deliver in your campus.
