hi, I just got a call from my soon to be roomate.
and she said that she's brining the tvs , dvd player, rug, and etc and that I should bring fridge and microwave.

Where should I get those? Let me know the good stores!

My family has Toyota Matrix. I think we are taking that car .
Do you think everythings gonna fit in that car???

Check with your school first to see if there are any requirements as to the size of the fridge or type of microwave. My school doesn't allow microwaves unless they're part of the microfridge package, so that's what I did. You can buy them at microfridge.com or if your school is involved with vallettodaycampus.com, you can rent or buy them from there. Renting is a good option if you're planning to move into an apartment after only a year. Otherwise, it seems more cost effective to buy.

Either option can ship it to your school. With vallettoday, however, it arrives in your room with no shipping cost if you order by Aug 6.

Does anyone know of a place to rent fridges and microwaves that works with Vanderbilt?? microfridge, micro101, and valettodaycampus don't work with Vandy :(

Try calling your school and asking them directly. It'll save you a lot of internet searching.

hm, good idea, thanks

you could always just wait until you go to your school and buy it at a store nearby.

Walmart has them. Fridge is around $100 and a microwave is between
$50-60. It sounds like your roomie gave you a bad deal. I'm getting the TV/DVD combo for my room and it's only $100. And the average price for a BB&B rug is $30. And those are two big items, especially considering that you'll have other stuff that's just yours and the ONE car you say you're bringing isn't that big. Did you really agree to this arrangement, or did he/she just say "this is how we're doing it...."?

BUT, the one good thing is that if you buy the fridge and microwave instead of renting them, they're yours for life. It'll be two fewer things you have to buy when you have a single room or when you get your own place after college.

After looking at that microfridge.com site, Im definitely going to try to buy my fridge/microwave there.

I will live in a triple. so we have one more roomate who is from Bulgaria.
I think she's flying. So i just told my roomate that i will get the fridge and microwave and I will get money from her

you can buy it anywhere.

We bought the fridge from Menards, if you've ever heard of that, it's a hardware store like Home Depot and Lowe's.

Can buy the microwave there too.

But u gotta check with the school on the sizes cause they may have a limit.

I got my fridge at home depot (they had the best price on the fridge I wanted, I was picky) and the microwave for $25 at walmart, since it had to be 700 watts or less.

newegg also has fridges. I also saw a nice Sanyo one at costco for 150, and is pretty big.
