Where to buy textbooks?

Most people mention Amazon or Half, though I'm not sure about purchasing used books from those sites.

Has anyone bought materials from the following website?

<a href="http://www.textbookunderground.com/%5B/url%5D">http://www.textbookunderground.com/</a>

Seems pretty reliable and I received a discount card in the mail.

Textbook Underground is pretty reliable- their storefront is only a couple blocks from Univ. Bookstore right on State st. But from what I remember their prices were not that much different from the Univ. Bookstore's.

I really recommend Amazon, especially right now a couple weeks before school starts. I've usually saved 50% or more off the cover price.

Look for books that are in Very Good or Like New conditions- they're good values. And of course, make sure the buyer has good ratings. In my experience, even newly launched sellers are fine because they're usually students too, who just dropped/didn't take the course.

You can also try exchangehut.com, which can have old books from UW students.

I don't recommend Amazon due to the fact that lasy year we tried them and then found out some professors used their own material with the book which you could only get at the university bookstore so we had to sell all the Amazon books at a loss and repurchase the same books at the university bookstore.
