Where to download music legally for ipod?

besides itunes, since it cost .99/song, where else can you legally download songs for an ipod and that doesnt charge per song

wait...you want a legal download site that doesn't charge money? I'm afraid you are caught between a rock and a hard place. Free songs = illegal site. Unless someone knows something I don't.

You can get indie songs for free legally. I'm not sure of any specific site though. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I use Kazaa to download songs. Hope this helps.

i dont mean for free, i just mean places that charge like a monthly fee and no per song fee

Could get a Napster account and transfer your songs to eventually fit onto your iPod. Apple likes to make things difficult though -.-;

theres this place called allofmp3.com
its a russian site, so the songs end up being like 5-20 cents per song. and like$1.50 or $2 for an album, sometimes less or more, it depends on the popularity

the ONLY negative is that they get new stuff like a week and soemtimes even a month later than it comes out here

$10 lasted me like 3 months.

If by "legal" you mean "illegal", then there are plenty of places!

I second Napster. Not sure if it's compatible with iPod. Pretty sure it has to be, though.

It wasn't when I used it. Oh, and I would caution against Napster, because you're basically renting the songs. Once you stop paying the monthly fee they are unplayable.

You're joking! That's absolutely ridiculous. Forget Napster lol.

Has anyone used the Realplayer Rhapsody service?

try limewire i heard somewhere it's legal

Lol I'm pretty sure it's legal in Papua New Guinea.

Next time you're in a random foreign airport, download like mad!!! :)

Ruckus.com

There is actually a site that college students can download MP3's for free from. You can't burn them onto CD's but you can put them on your IPOD.

I forget the name of it, all you need is a student ID. My friend uses it - I haven't, because I don't download music...but the songs downloaded in like 3 seconds.

100% totally free for college students - just need the student ID.

Okay, I just found out from them and it is Ruckus, like the previous poster mentioned.

are you sure you can put the songs on your ipod for ruckus?

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's illegal, it's called file sharing, just because you need a student ID doesn't mean it's legal.

You have to pay for ruckus if you want to transfer songs, but there are ways around it.....

It's only illegal if you use it for profit, as far as I know. Limewire pro charges a one-time $18.99 fee for legal downloading.

No, it's not illegal.

Ruckus is a "legal" downloading site/software for college students.
