We are touring Case tomorrow and would really appreciate some suggestions for lunch. My hope,is that there is a great place close to campus.

While touring the campus is there anything we should be sure not to miss?

Thank you.

Thank you.

Little Italy is very close to campus with lots of great restaurants at all price points. Do check for online reviews to help decide. Parking can be a challenge in Little Italy but you should be fine at lunch time. Just check since some restaurants aren’t open on Mondays.

We’ve eaten lunch at L’Albatros which is very close to the Admissions building. A little pricey but food is excellent and has a very nice patio area. In fact, we ate there before our tour of Case 2 years ago.

There are many quick options in University Circle - Panera, Qdoba, Chipotle, etc.

Enjoy your tour/trip. The Cleveland Cultural Gardens are very pretty so explore some if you get a chance.

Thank you Neilrrm. I made reservations for lunch tomorrow. Their menu looks wonderful!

@2readytogo Don’t eat dessert at L’albatross…walk across the street and go to Mitchell’s for home made ice cream…they should have some great seasonal flavors available among their other yummy staples! It’s right across from the bookstore so you’ll probably go there anyway…
The burger at L’albatross is great…

Mitchell’s is a big campus favorite and very good ice cream! And, if you are driving vs. flying into Cleveland, once you finish at Case, take a quick drive through Little Italy and pick up some Italian cookies & pastries!

Thanks for all of the recommendations! Lunch at L’Albatros was wonderful. We saved room for dessert at Mitchell’s after purchasing some Case swag at the bookstore. Our tour guide was very personable and the day was an all-around great introduction to Case.

Thank you again!

L’Albatros is expensive for those that are looking through this. If you want great food, maybe a great beer, then go to Melt. Its about a 5 minute drive from the South Residential Village, and it’s been featured on Man vs. Food before. Check it out, especially if you’re on any sort of budget. L’Albatros is great, but its a little more “classy” and less “fun” for the average incoming student looking to get a feel for Cleveland. Average meal at L’Albatros is ~$20, while Melt is ~$12.

Other great food options are in Coventry, like Pacific East. Some of my favorites in the Cleveland Area in general are B-Spot (about the same price as Melt but not similarly gigantic portions) and Happy Dog (super cheap hot dogs with any combo of 50 toppings). I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a Case kid who hasn’t heard of Happy Dog or Melt. In fact, you may even meet some of them if you stop by!
