I was just accepted to Mizzou and I have a 3.55 GPA and 31 ACT so I’m almost positive I should be getting some automatic scholarships, but when I’m on MyZou and go to “student center” under finances and in the financial aid section to “accept/decline awards” there are no scholarships listed? Am I looking in the right place? Is there something I’m missing? Please help me figure it out, thanks!!
You have to fill out the annual scholarship application first to get any automatic (and competitive) scholarships. Go to the financial aid center on myZou and fill out the 2016 one.
With a 31 ACT you would also need to be in the top 10% of your class to receive the automatic $6500 Chancellor’s scholarship.
When do they typically announce scholarship awards?
@ohiovalley16 I checked the date on my letter last year, and it was March 16. For automatic scholarships you’ll hear back within a month of being accepted to Mizzou.
OK, thanks @CE527M . She did indeed receive the automatic scholarship information very quickly. Thanks for the timing on the communication for the competitive scholarships.
@ohiovalley16 Was it on the portal or in a letter? Thanks!!
@CAMidwestMom I actually didn’t see what was on the portal, but the hard copy letter for the Mark Twain came fairly quickly after the acceptance. It may have been in the same letter.
Thank you @ohiovalley16 ! We are localish so his letter should get here pretty quickly. I know what he should get but the confirmation is always nice.
@CAMidwestMom The day after they print the letter to mail it, they’ll post an identical copy of it on the portal (Under the message center tab), so you could probably see it a couple days before the hard copy arrives.
I love this forum. Sure enough, the letter was sent today and in the Messages tab! Thanks @CE527M!
