So I'm a freshmen and applied for housing pretty late, like 3 days before move in late! I basically had no choice in which dorm I would stay in and got stuck with Read in the southeast neighborhood. It is everything I've heard it was. Boring, dead, not too many people leaving their doors open or being social. I've met some really nice people but no one I've really clicked with and certainly no one that parties. I'm not too wild or anything but I just want to party a little on the weekends. So I was wondering, I know nw has its reputation for partying, where else can i find some fun? Is it acceptable to crash a party you weren't invited to?

Just meet people that know where the parties are. Or just have people over in your dorm if you really cant find anything. That can still be fun, you just have to be more careful. Thats what ive done so far. Theres also a twitter account called iuparties.

Make friends with other people who also like to party. And no, if nobody you’re going out with was actually invited to a party, don’t crash it. That’s a total freshman move

Everyone was a freshman at one point, go find a group of girls who want to go out. Go with them and any GDI party will let you in… fraternity not so much. Or drink in Reed with people on your floor. Either way don’t stay in your dorm on your computer… there is only one freshman year and only one first semester, don’t waste it.
