So, I have a few questions and was hoping someone could help me... I'm not exactly the typical student.
I'm currently a first semester senior with an online high school. I graduate in January. I have taken eight dual enrollment courses (and four AP courses, currently enrolled in four more), and am in another two for the summer. I will have my A.A. requirements completed by the end of the coming fall semester.
I have always wanted to go to vet school, and have my heart set on the one at UF. I live in Florida, so I really don't want to go out of state, but I have considered it.
My question is this: because UF does not have rolling admission, I can't start there as soon as I graduate, and I really would like to get into college as soon as I graduate, instead of taking time off. So, my first thought was UCF. I plan on double majoring in microbiology and mathematics (or at least minoring in math, for the time being).
I was told that if I start at UCF, I might as well complete my undergraduate degree there and then apply for graduate school at UF. A few of the biology and math professors at UCF have told me that it would look better to get my degree at one school, instead of having some classes there, and then transferring over to UF, not to mention that it would be easier.
Are they correct in saying that it would be better for me to stay at UCF? Or should I spend one semester at UCF and then try to transfer to UF?
