I am a Sophomore wondering where I want to go! Any advice is good advice! My Stats: 1550 on SAT, NHS, Golf 2 Yrs., Student Government, 8 Honors classes so far, Non Minority Male, 4.0 UW GPA, 104.0 W or 4.1, Top 7% percent of class, Rocketry Program, 300 HRS of community service with a specific organization. I’m looking for a degree in the business spectrum, I have no opinion on school size just a high-level university… Any possible schools would be a great help!
This community will probably be more helpful if you give us more of a description of the kind of school you are looking for based on size, location, “feel”, interest in greek life, interest in collegiate athletics (either as an athlete or spectator), university v. liberal arts college, etc. Just giving us your stats won’t really help us give you meaningful suggestions.
You have great stats so far. Keep up the good work and you’ll have lots of great college options.
If you haven’t, you should have the “paying for college” discussion with your parents. Cost/financial aid is a major factor for many students and could dramatically affect your draft list of colleges that interest you. For reference:

You mentioned school size doesn’t matter to you. Other common factors used to narrow the list is location (e.g. urban, suburban, rural), climate, sports, greek life, availability of major (e.g. is it offered, are you guaranteed entry into your major), etc. You may want to start considering what things you would like / not like in your school then use one of the many college search engines to narrow the list and begin detailed investigations and plan visits.
Good luck!
- I am looking for an Urban centered college, also, with a general feel of high achieving students but not extremely out of the box like Harvard, I'm not interested in Greek life but would be a fan of having some sports games to go and watch. On the matter of tuition, with help from family, personal earnings, and job during some of college might be able to cover most of cost. Scholarships and aid are always great but not if they extremely limit my choices.
Wharton as a reach. If a Catholic school would work for you perhaps Georgetown, BC, Villanova and perhaps Fordham as a safety. Other ideas (which do have Greek Life I believe) might be USC, UTexas, Tulane, maybe Pitt as a safety.
yeah maybe like umiami, northwestern, usc, tulane, smu, ut-austin, vanderbilt, Rice, uw-madison, ucla, berkley, ohio state, georgetown, villanova also good additions like the above poster said
