Where to put Miscellaneous volunteer events on Common App?

<p>The activity section on the Common App seems to only have space for recurring activities. All of my volunteer hours were separate events (e.g. volunteer at a festival for 7 hours) that didn't repeat. How should I go about listing these events? </p>

<p>Tbh if they’re not extracurriculars that you’re very involved in, then you probably shouldn’t list them. If you really want to mention other volunteering activities you did, then you can probably put that under the additional information section.</p>

<p>You can easily list them by putting in the Activity Section something like “Volunteer Experience” as an activity, then put “See Additional Information Section” in the description space. Then in Additional Info, put a header that says “Volunteer Experience”, and then bullet out each item below. Examples:</p>

<li>9th & 10th grade - Volunteer for Get in Gear 10K, runner bag table & course setup (8 hours/year)</li>
<li>10th grade - Summer volunteer for Second Harvest Food Shelf to collect food at end of Farmer’s Market every Sunday. 32 hours total.</li>
<li>11th grade - Political campaign volunteer for State House candidate. 12 hours.</li>
</ul>

<p>You get the idea, I think.</p>

<p>What my guidance counselor and I ultimately decided on was listing 'Miscellaneous Volunteering", and giving some examples of the organizations I have volunteered with in the details box, and listing the total hours in the provided sections.</p>
