Dude, I’m with you. I’m a third year transfer and tonight, my first day moving in, I see a party going on with all these girls and guys at the apartments just down the street from the Health Center. I felt like calling that one in so badly! And not because I’m a socially awkward nerd who is jealous.

Nudity in public is illegal. The grounds police allow the Streaking of the Lawn EVERY night. Stop complaining, people drink. It’s NOT your job to seek justice. After all, you’re only 18, what could you know. You’re still a “growing” boy psychologically.

UVAorBust…You do realize you’re in the presence of “greatness”, don’t you? Silverturtle scored a perfect score on his SAT (1st sitting) AND a perfect score on the ACT (1st sitting). I’m not surprised his everyday vernacular requires a dictionary. Impressive, huh?

Jc40,

I actually had the honor to read, well I don’t think that is the right word. I had the honor to decipher his essay. Now I may be a plebeian with my stats no where in the realm of Silver’s, but I don’t even think an admission officer could have handled such a thing without immense use of the dictionary. Silverturtle is bound to go very far in life.

“If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.”

Thomas Jefferson

^^You see that? Thomas Jefferson approved! Now dont be a snitch and let them do what they want lol

Op, do you call the cops when people speed? Or drive with no seatbelt? Or are you just a sheltered prick and jealous that others actually have friends to drink with?

Post # 66 says it all. Go Hoos.

So, on that note, where are the good parties tonight? ;)

It’s called “Mr Jefferson’s university.”

Op:

The cops are aware the students drink. They are also aware that most fraternities host parties every weekend, and that students drink at these parties. You are not helping anyone by calling the cops to report underage drinking. Let me repeat this: THE COPS KNOW. They are’t stupid. They KNOW THERE IS UNDERAGE DRINKING, but they choose to allocate their resources elsewhere. It would require a huge amount of manpower and money to shut down every party at UVA. They would rather spend this time and money preventing & responding to rapes, murders, robberies, etc. I’d wager they are more concerned about traffic violation than underage drinking. Furthermore, people have a right to privacy within their place of residence. This makes it very hard to arrest people on based on a mere phone call. So please don’t call the cops on every private party in Charlottesivlle.

On the other hand, first year dorms are supposed to be dry, and the University does take this fairly seriously. If you see people drinking inside the dorm you can report it to your RA, who will take the appropriate action.

Many years ago, my fraternity was having a loud party with a band. The neighborhood association was pressuring the City cops to crack down on noise. We looked outside and saw a City cop aiming a noise meter at the House.

With a big crowd, we didn’t have access to any volume controls of the band, so a couple of us ran through the house shutting all the doors and windows. The cop looked up at us and gave us the thumbs up - we had just barely passed the noise limit. The President of the House then went out and invited the cop to come back to the party when his shift was over.

I guess this kid must have reported the block party… Which by the way was insanity.

Is that why there were almost a dozen cops out there? Probably not. The cops know about these tings and do the best they can to prevent them, but the students outnumbered the cops more than 500:1.

The block party isn’t new this year. The police didn’t need anyone to report it.

They had extra people on last night to handle the Corner and the Dave & Tim show downtown.

I was being sarcastic, but… It was a blast though.

I know I’m late coming into this thread and all, but all I can say is…lolololololololololololol. If the OP is serious, he’s in for a rude awakening to real life.

Well I just got on to read some recent responses, and this is what’s wrong with our country, people having that silly liberal hippie attitude that they can do whatever they want and throw our country into the toilet.

At least I’m at a place like UVa and not an even worse, liberal-infested place like Yale.

Still sad to see that liberals have a monopoly on what’s considered okay socially

Oh yeah, nineteen year olds drinking is what’s wrong with our country hahahaha. You got it all figured out.

We all see what youre doing. Trying to enforce your beliefs by getting people arrested.

That’s why I like liberals a lot more socially.
