Where to retake class?

Hey there I'm in my first year of college at a community college and oh noes I failed a class :/ the thing is I'm transferring to another CC next fall, and then I hope to transfer to uni after that. I'm not sure if my current college will replace the grade if I retake it because I don't explicitly see it on their website. After a little research I've also seen that GPAs don't really transfer between colleges, just the credits. So would my 0 credits in that class technically transfer over?

A little confused but I'm just asking if the better idea is to retake it right now before I transfer, or just take the equivalent after I transfer(wouldn't that give me a fresh GPA and hide the failed class if I don't show people my transcripts from CC #1?)? Either way I'm confident I can pass the class now.

You don’t have “zero” credits in that class. You technically have X many credits but you failed the class. So it’d transfer over as an F but it wouldn’t count against you I think because that’s not the GPA from the new college with courses taken from there. What I meant by count against you is that it wouldn’t penalize you there, but that F does follow you around for the rest of your life on paper and in your cumulative GPA. Your transcript will show the retake and make up for it possibly.

You are required to submit all transcripts from universities attended. They have a way of checking this through the National Clearing House, I think.

I don’t know if you HAVE to transfer it over to your new community college, but I do know when you are wanting to go to university in the future you must submit all transcripts from all institutions attended. You cannot “hide” anything.
