Does anyone have recommendations of where to stay? Is it good to stay at the Union Hotel on campus or is there a neighborhood where we could stay close to the restaurants and shops where students hang out, to get a feel for any “college town” atmosphere? Thank you!
The Union Hotel would be closest to campus. Parts of the hotel are kind of old and the rooms small. I don’t believe breakfast is part of the package. Down the hill will be the Hilton Garden and a new Hampton Inn that are kind of in the heart of the off campus housing areas and the uptown area of campus. I believe the Hampton includes breakfast. Both are near the pedestrian bridge that will take you to downtown Lafayette. Be warned that they are in a river valley and while Purdue is not a hilly campus it is uphill to campus from either of those hotels.
