We are making plans to attend Destination Tulane in late March. We are planning to fly in the night before, go to Tulane for the day and then spend another day exploring NO. Does anyone have suggestions on where we should stay? Thanks in advance!

There is a nice B & B right across from campus and on the street car line called The Park View. (http://www.parkviewguesthouse.com/) Further away, but relatively close on St.Charles is a nice Hampton Inn (Garden District) and a Best Western. If one once to be nearer the FQ there are many places.

The few times I have been to New Orleans I stayed at the Loews hotel in downtown New Orleans. It was very nice and because we went on off weekends we received excellent rates. The hotel is a short car ride from Tulane and walking distance to the French Quarter.

When I am in New Orleans primarily to be at Tulane, I like that Hampton Inn idad mentions. It is literally a few steps from the streetcar and a shorter ride to the campus. If I am in New Orleans to split my time between downtown and Tulane, then a downtown hotel is the way to go, IMO.

I have never stayed at the Maison St Charles, but they offer great deals to Tulane folks, and an extra discount if you “like” them on facebook!
I have also never stayed at the Wyndham Avenue Plaza on St Charles, but its gotten good reviews. Its another little boutique-y place not far from campus. The best feature is the restaurant in it, a very good steak place, called Mr. Johns. We took DS and a friend freshman year. They loved it (who wouldnt-- it wasnt Bruff food!!).
