I understand that Ithaca is a confusing place to find your way around. Can anyone suggest a hotel that is easy to find and close to where you go on campus to audition.

My husband and son sayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown Ithaca. My husband said it was easy to find both the hotel and the campus. The hotel was less than two miles away so if was a very quick drive. He said the hotel was fine.

How far away from campus is the Statler Hilton,is that the name of it? For that matter, how far away is Cornell? Thanks!

The Statler is located right smack in the middle of the Cornell campus. It is part of the famous hotel school at Cornell. Getting to Ithaca College from the Cornell campus is not difficult. It's just down one hill and up another. But the downtown Hilton might be easier b/c it's next to great resturants (Moosewood) and an easy drive up the hill to IC, which is a couple miles away. I believe there is also a beautiful little up on South hill which over looks Cayuga Lake and downtown Ithaca and right next to IC. Beautiful views!

There is a brand new Country Inn Suites right up the road from the college. My parents stay there when they come to see my shows! They said it was really nice and affordable.

I hear the Country Inn & Suites is very good as well, I just got a new review from Trip Advisor. It is located very near the school. In the past I've stayed in small NY towns & drove to IC. I've never found the town hard to negotiate. I think we'll bring our trailer up for orientation and camp at a state park near by. It is quite beautiful there!

Hi everybody!
We just returned from audition weekend and stayed at the Country Inn and Suites. It is literally up the street from the college, brand new and a very nice place to stay. Also one of the most reasonable that gives you a one bedroom. Living room with sofabed, desk, fridge. There is not a 2nd tv, although there is a cable to attach one. My guess is that when they are better established, they will add some.
The bedroom has 2 queens and a 32 in flat screen tv. Nice fireplace in the lobby with couches to hang out and full hot breakfast included. Also an elevator even though its only 2 floors. Great value for your dollar. I do not work or represent this chain--i've just been traveling for auditions the last month and found this to be "the" nicest place we've stayed and it gives you 3 beds, something we need when my H travels with us.
Ithaca was a great school. I hope she gets in!
