I still have to take 9 credits over the summer since incoming credit doesn't count. I wanted to take these at UCF since I can commute there over the summer instead of having to pay housing here in Gainesville. Would that be a bad idea for whatever reason and should I take them here at UF? I'd rather be home over the summer.

I'm an engineer and want to take MAC2313, a programming class or CompSci-related class, and a diversity class over the summer.

What I meant to ask was like if taking UCF classes will hurt me in anyway? Because Calc 3 is critical tracking for me I’m not sure if I can take it at UCF, and if I can will i be at a disadvantage compared to the Calc 3 kids at UF?

You can indeed take calc3 elsewhere and have it count for UF. As for if you’ll be at a disadvantage, it really depends on how good of a professor you get. I wouldn’t worry about it, because you could just as easily get a bad professor at UF as at UCF.

Just fyi, the compsci department offers almost 0 undergrad classes during the summer. Certainly not any useful ones.

Thanks data! I have a lot of friends who go to UCF so I’ll ask if they know good teachers. Is Calc 3 over the summer hard since I think the term is 4 weeks shorter?

As for the comp sci classes do you mean at UF or UCF? I did notice the only class I could really take at UF is C programming which I would be okay with since I have all my gen eds done. I just need a filler class to get 9 credits so I thought one based on my major would be enjoyable.
