Where to transfer?

I'm a sophmore at colgate and am considering transferring, but am not sure where to apply. I am fairly happy at colgate, so I dont have a NEED to transfer, but I think I could be enjoying myself more elsewhere. I dont want to "take a step back" in terms of academics or reputation, and would only consider applying to schools that are better or on the same level. Im having trouble making a list though, so here's what I dont like about Colgate: too preppy, not enough diversity, horrible weather (not a big issue), too dominating of a frat scene, not enough course choices, in the middle of nowhere.

Id like to stay in the east, and am thinking of mainly ivy, or ivy-esque schools. I dont mind the LAC scene either.

Coming out of high school I applied to mostly top level (some ivy schools). After my freshman year at college I have a 3.92 GPA, am involved in a few organizations and have good relations with my professors. Thanks

do the top colleges even accept transfer students, and am I right to think that with a 3.92 from a good school I have a shot?

Princeton doesn’t accept transfers, Middlebury doesn’t some years. Most schools accept transfers, but acceptance rates are often considerably lower than for fr admissions.

Yes, a 3.9 is a very good gpa; other factors such as number of units taken and difficulty of coursework will also be taken into consideration with your gpa.
