Hi, um I'm a senior. luckily already done with college applications :), ummm I hope this isn't your final list. Haven't you considered any safeties, regardless of your stats, most if not all of those schools are generally difficult to anyone to assure acceptance. Personally, I always had a list of the schools of where I wanted to go, but I never disregarded any safety schools to make sure.

I would suggest finding a favorite among your RD schools and applying to them ED because it more than triples (in some cases) your chances for admissons, especially for Princeton and Penn.

My list:

1st choice-Uf
2nd choice-Umich
3rd Choice-Fsu

Vandy for ED in Fall, and if I don't get in there, Emory RD... still making my list though. I still need saftey's several more matches, and a few reaches just because. However, I'm really praying that Vandy will pull through.

I am applying to 2 reach schools, nothing else!

Wow, I had no clue where I wanted to apply until literally two weeks before EA for most schools. You guys are seriously ahead of things here...but that's awesome!!

^^lil_killer, you might want to think about at least one safety, just in case. you don't want to be stuck in the position where you didn't get into school anywhere!!

Yea, but at the same time, juniors just relax focus on your studies and ride the year through. I know personally that I didn't even consider college choices until about November, and to be quite frank, many of my choices just had easy supplements ;) sorry. So yeah, just wait for AP tests to pass, and enjoy the rest of the ride :).

I don't know if they're both actually reaches. It is just my verbal score that is pulling me down. I don't think it will hurt that much since I plan on majoring in mathematics. My verbal is FAR below their 25%ile (appx. 100 points below), but everything else is up there. My math is appx. 50 points higher than 75%ile, GPA is solid (a bit higher than average but not a lot), EC's aren't bad, and courseload isn't too bad. Can these schools possibly be a match since I only have a deficiency in one factor (verbal SAT)?

No Reed on these lists... quite the pity. Well, your loss.

You sound pretty much like me. I had a 600V and 800M, and yet I got into some pretty spectacular schools (to say the least). Thus, just keep consistent and reach for the stars, and good luck :)

You see...I'm not really like you. I'm worse than you. Your m/v gap is only 200. Mine is almost breaking past 300. My gap is 300 right now, and it will continue to grow. I can feel it. :( I try really hard...though... I guess the SAT's isn't for me.:(

Or rather, the critical reading. Realize that though these scores are important, overall they merely demonstrate good testtaking. For I feel that if you qualified in a certain field, you should make around 700+, but other than that, it tends to be potluck with your expected scores to vary with an error of +/- 100 points (quite an unfortunate amount). Nonetheless, stick to it, and good luck :)

"November - Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, and some more matches that I haven't decided on yet."

This seems to imply that these are all matches.
If you haven't realized already, HYPSM is a match for absolutely no one. I'd suggest getting safeties or REAL matches.

Yea same here, don't go into the college admissions process all cocky and arrogant, or you're going to look like the dumbass girl from our school, who applied to get this, a whopping five schools including: Princeton, Columbia, Stevens, Lehigh, and TCNJ. So, she got rejected from Princeton, her apparent match since birth. She got into Columbia, but somehow was too pretentious to accept a place. She is going to Stevens, and is now claiming that's been her dream school since birth. Waitlisted at Lehigh and accepted to TCNJ. So do you want to be like this girl who is 2nd in our class, but was to arrogant to see the truth and end up going to a middling school where the students in general are unhappy, hmmmmmm?

rd all
Brown UCLAUCB,UCSC,UCSB,UCI,UCR,cal poly pomona,Cal poly sanluis obispo,
vassar,Colgate,Wellesley ,dartmouth, Pomona,Boston College
I won't say that any school is my safety cos well like the above poster said some1 at my school did that and man every1 was like that's what u get for calling a school ur safety so no school is a safety they are all the same which ever accepts me then so be it

See, now that is a well balanced list. Personally I would recommend either Brown or Pomona, but you look like an east coast girl, so go with Pomona if you're feeling like an exceptional liberal arts college.
