Where will I get in?

Where will I get in?

I live in Virginia and I have a 4.2 weighted GPA. I want to go into CS/Cyber Security.

4.2 GPA, 33 ACT (I’m taking it again), 11 APs (including senior year), 1470 SAT (I will take it again), Straight As except 1 B sophomore year and 2 Bs Junior year (AP World, AP Calc AB, and AP Stats)

Things I’ve done:
-research publication on artificial intelligence
-research intern for a professor at UMD with a PHD from CMU (cyber security research)
-certification by Duke in Javscript, HTML, and CSS
-CEO of a cyber security company which I just started and received a $1000 grant for (It should take off during the summer)
-coderGirls intern in graphic design development
-founded and coached my cyberpatriot (cyber security competition) club and led my team to states
-varsity debate (state champion and I won various local tournaments)
-started a debate program for middle schoolers
-intern (project management and web development) at a local educational media start-up
-winner of the NCWIT (National center for women in technology) award
-will host a hackathon for middle schoolers
-programming competitions

Colleges I’m looking at:

In-State colleges: GMU, Virginia Tech, UVA

Out-of State: UMD, Purdue, Cornell, Princeton, UCDavis, University of Washington, Georgia Tech, USC, UIUC

look good, the B’s in math are slightly concerning for a cs major

the only one i don’t think you’ll get is princeton

I think you have a shot at Princeton also, since your female interested in CS. Having said that its still a reach.

Your chances are pretty good for most of these schools. I think your cybersecurity extra curriculars will give you a boost/edge over other cs candidates because cybersecurity is an underrated field.

Just keep doing your best and focus on what you like - no one can truly predict school acceptances; just make sure you are looking at a range of reach, target and safety schools that you would be happy at.
