I've narrowed mine down to:
Columbia (CC), Cornell (CAS or ILR), UChicago, Davidson, and UNC

As excited as I am, I'm not looking forward to writing all these essays!

I'm still narrowing them down, but most likely: UCB, UNC, UVa, UWA

UNC as my first choice.

Harvard, Yale, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Stanford, UPenn.

I know, I know, a very "prestige-whore" type of list, but I have very, very logical reasons for the list, but man the app fees are going to hurt...

Nice! Yeah for some schools, the supplemental work is crazy.

I'm doing USC, UCLA, UCB and Pomona College. I'm too much of a California girl I suposse. I had fallen in love with Reed and Dartmouth as well but they don't have my major, So it doesn't look like I'm going East.

Haha, Yury, go for it. Why not? :)

^thanks. Originally after HS, my "goal" was Stern. But then I did better than expected in college and now Stern seems like a low standard for me. Guess it's true what they say, no matter what you have, you always want more lol. (Plus the Stern advisers were very pretentious and poor advisers).

That sounds a bit like my situation as well. I was an okay Honors student in HS, but am doing really well in college. But I've commited myself to going to USC, it's like my dream school for sure, just comfort wise and for lots of other reasons when I'm there it feels like a fit. like I said I even considered a few more 'upscale' shmansy schools, but even if I end up applying to those I think I'd still end up where I love already.

hope that you are VERY VERY happy with your current school because none of those are safteys for anyone, if thats all your applying to there is a VERY good chance you will be rejected all around no matter what your stats.

Clearly we all have to be grounded in the reality that we may get rejected. But I doubt Yury is applying to these schools without knowing that.

USC, Occidental College (first choice), University of Washington, Pepperdine, Boston University, Washington University in St. Louis.

Good luck to everyone

w00t go WashU!

I'm just saying that if he is not happy staying at his current school than he better add a saftey onto that list.

Ah Yury you're not alone! I'm applying to Stanford, Harvard , Yale, Columbia, Cornell, UChicago, Dartmouth, Upenn, MIT, Caltech, Brown, Duke, Harvey Mudd, Rose Hulman. Though chances are I might be rejected everywhere!

Wake Forest

Emory, UVA, UNC, Case Western, Lehigh, and Venderbilt.

University of Wisconsin-Madison.

UCLA Cal USC UCSD

Very True. I'm doing decently myself and am still paranoid about getting rejected. But, It's all about keeping the hopes up until I get a response what, next May & June? Eesh, The wait is gonna be terrible.

anshumanrulz, you're killing more trees than me lol.

But no, I'm not happy here, and the more I attend, the worse it gets. My collegiate experience can seriously be turned into a dark comedy, because any f***ed up thing that could possibly happen, happened to me.

Ever go to school for over a semester and half and the college has you labeled officially as "discontinued" aka dropped out?

I have...

But I'm not going to take a safety school... the whole point of transferring is to a better school, I'm already IN college, a safety would be useless in my opinion, and besides, a reason I'm looking to transfer is because the people in schools with similar ranking to my current just don't do it for me. I can't find people who actually have intellectual conversations. The convos usually range from "YO IM SO FING DRUNK" to "yo, I'm high as f" and who doesn't like to party here and there? But what about in between.

Man I have a lot of angst...

I just started freshman year at Emerson College. I'm a film major.

Would I have a poor shot at USC because I just started college?
Because I really want to transfer to USC. My only problem is I don't have grades in college yet. I still havn't taken my mditerm.

I also heard if you apply for sophomore year they will look at your high school grades.
This is bad because...senior year I did VERY bad after finding out I got into Emerson...which was a bad move on my part.

so yea...I want to transfer to USC...and thats it
