<p>Cornell and Chicago are both world-class great universities, and have some very similar things in their histories, but in some respects they are polar opposites: Chicago vs. Ithaca, Core vs. relatively weak gen ed requirements, weak frats vs. strong frats, Midwest vs. New York, anti-professionalism vs. explicit professionalism, significant size difference, 100% private vs. state support in some schools. So there are plenty of reasons for a particular applicant to prefer one over the other, or vice versa, depending on that individual's personal tastes and situation.</p>
<p>I'd take Chicago over Cornell any day.</p>
