WHERE will YOU go?

Bruins all day everyday :)

Chose UCSB over UCSD and UCSC! I know SD has a little better academics but I want to enjoy my college experience! I want to be right next to the beach, I surf and SB was rated as the #1 surf college on surfermag. Plus you have all the cute girls and active social life. You really can’t go wrong. I can’t wait till september!

It was hard to realize that I need to break out of my comfort zone… but UCLA here I come! Whoo :)

Nimawhat, You’re going to be dissapointed at UCSB as a surfer. The channel islands block almost virtually all south swell, santa barbara only gets waves from winter storms. UCSC or UCSD would have been much better choices. Oh well whatcanyadonow?

Turned down UCSD for UCI, hope it’s worth it.

@IndieRockNRoll:
Same as you, choosing to leave my comfort zone. I just SIR’d to UCLA :D.

UCLA! over berkeley. see y’alls this fall (or summer, i will be there starting june 20th!)

UC Davis.

10char.

Fishtankcleaner, I am aware of the inconsistencies of the breaks around campus, but rincon is only a 20 min drive away and north santa barbara is close as well. Ventura is also close and that doesnt get its swells blocked by the channel islands.

If you were looking for surf Santa cruz would of been the choice.

Santa Cruz has nice surf but damn is that water cold.

you really cant complain about any of these schools haha, but UCSB has the whole package. And I’m talking academics, social life, surf, and whatever else a college experience should have.

UCI! so excited for fall :)

Deciding between CSU East Bay and UC Davis. Any advice? I know I will have more opportunities at Davis (just from what I’ve researched) and cost isn’t any issue since I have Blue + Gold. But, I don’t know a soul at Davis, where as CSUEB is like home…my best friends are there and I am very familiar with the school. But I think I SHOULD get out of my comfort zone.

I actually SIR’d to both but I’m going to cancel one as soon as I decide.

^ go to Davis…get outta your comfort zone. don’t worry that you’ll be a total loner just cause you don’t know anyone at Davis. Be open and put yourself out there. I was THIS close to SIR’ing with SFSU for the reasons you mentioned, but to the shock and awe of my family/friends (jk) I went for Davis. lol
good luck pyoro

Go to UCD! You’ll be very proud to be a UCD student and eventually alum ;)

Chose UCSB over UCLA, Cal, and UCSD XP
I keep hearing it doesnt matter where you do undergraduate as long as you enjoy your experiece and UCSB seems to have the academics and the scene. Plus I got accepted for Cal for the Spring and as a transfer, didnt really have the option of going to a community college because i finished my prereqs. so anyone else pick ucsb?

^ I don’t know that it doesn’t matter at all where you do your undergrad. This is anecdotal evidence only, but I have three cousins who are science majors (chem, bio, biochem) and one who’s a biotech major (he’s now starting a dentistry program though). Anyway, they all said repeatedly that in the job market for their careers, the employers really DID care about where they got their degrees. They went to Davis, SD, and Irvine, and said often people from those schools and better would get the job over people from SB, riverside, and merced. It could’ve just been for those fields though, depending on which school had better programs. And it could be that they were just better applicants and the school didn’t matter at all.

So, what I’m trying to say is, prestige/name of the undergrad school could matter depending on which field you’re going into.

Sent from my HTC EVO using CC App

^what i mean is, for me it doesnt really matter since i fully intend to go to grad school. So in this case, where I do my undergrad really wont matter because grad school decisions are based on gpa and your involvement in research. But your right for someone going for just the undergrad. In which case it would probably be pretty important =)

I just signed my SIR into Davis but I’m still waiting to see if I get in on the waitlist at SD. Then I’ll be canceling Davis and going to SD.
