blackmamba8- on cal day, I talked to the psychobiology advisers and they told me that with the type of research I am interested in, If I was to go to Cal, I would have to go to UCSF, or other med centers within the bay area to do my undergrad research. I do not like to jump though many hoops to get my med research.

UCLA is convenient in that they have a medical center on campus.
UCLA is like a “one-stop shop” to do your undergraduate education and research towards med school or grad school.

hahaha JK, I would pick cal!! I love the bay area, but when I get rejected from both I am going to UCD I love davis and sac, it’s a good school, and they have good internship opportunities for pre-med people

shellbelltaylor- I live in norcal and If I get accepted to Cal only, I would still chose UC Davis over Cal. See my previous post on page one as to see why.

History. The beauty of med school is that you can major in whatever you want as long as you complete your pre-med requirements. Trust me, I was this close majoring in bio until changing my mind.

naniwa- UCLA and Cal have its strengths in certain areas.

For most pure science majors like bio, physics, math, engineering, political science, majors that do well on the LSAT, business- Cal is stronger.

For pre-med/health, psychology as a medical discipline, neuropsychology, theater, film, performing arts, music- UCLA is stronger

Our family friend told me this. In fact, he works at UC Berkeley.

true, in terms of prestige the differences between cal and ucla aren’t very big. In fact, I like UCLA a lot and I’ve been there a lot because my sister goes to school there. It’ll be a tough choice, but I’ll inevitably be pushed by my parents to go Cal anyway lol.

btw, I’m going to law school and taking the LSAT next fall.

Both the schools are so good! I would probably choose UCLA if I get into both. I live to close to Cal to want to go there. If I don’t get in, I think Im going to go to UC Davis.

Not interested in Berk, I’d choose UCLA. My second choice would probably be UNC in Chapel Hill, NC, because I have parents on both coasts, hehe.

UCLA if I get into both. I’m only an hour away from it and that is just too convenient and I have a lot going on down here.
UCI if I get rejected from UCLA. I love that school.

I don’t even know if I’d go to Berk or UCLA if I got in. Have been having some nasty chats with the bf as of late (he DOES NOT want me to go) and I honestly have no idea what would be the best option for me. I feel like I would regret my decision either way :(
