Even if I get into UCLA and/or Cal, I’m going to UCSB. Go where you’re happy!! They’re all great schools!

If admitted to both, I would probably attend UCLA. If neither I would attend Davis.

rofl pinaiko, it takes like one hour to hop on bart and to take the bus or even N-Muni to UCSF form Cal.

@alexajam Thank you! I was just about to ask, “Would anyone here pick another school if they were to get into both Cal and UCLA?” You make a great point, go where you’re happiest. UC schools are all some of the top schools in the nation!

If I get rejected by Cal, I’m going to SFSU.

Nero103- does your major pop up on myucla? Mine does.

@theanchorage - It kind of sounds like your bf wants whats best for him, not you. Please that into consideration. This is your life. Will you be more upset having a long distance relationship for two years and still ending up together if its really meant to be, or going somewhere because he prefers it, breaking up, and always wondering… what if?

OMG really pino? you are a shoe-in. Congratulations!

If I don’t get into either then it’s off a cliff

J/k

Most likely ucsb

I changed my mind about my backup school yesterday. If rejected, I’ll go to DAVIS, not UCSD… UCSD still hasn’t admitted me yet (who knows, maybe I’m rejected?!?) and I thought long and hard about whether I personally think I’d be happy moving to SD, and I don’t see it happening for some reason. I want to stay NOR CAL and Davis seems like a great fit for me overall.

I’m actually so psyched to go to Davis now, I’ll pick it over UCLA (if I get in). Not Cal though. If I get into Berkeley, I’m SIRing on the spot!

deanzatransfer-what is your major?

I applied as a Linguistics major.

deanzatransfer-what are your stats?

Berkeleyphil is choosing UCLA over Berkeley?

Name is misleading.

it is. 10 characters.

4.0 GPA (an equal mix of As and A+s)
Linguistics major
IGETC, math and English done by fall 2010
Prereqs done (A+ in intro to linguistics course, 2 college years of one foreign language, and 1 college year each for two other foreign languages)
People who read my essays thought they are really good.
BUT not too many quality ECs…

@deanzatransfer good luck - though I think you are IN at Cal. Great GPA, can’t get any better than that! EC’s are icing on the cake, obviously your academics are SOLID, so I wouldn’t worry about that :]

Thanks pyoro1. I reaaaallly hope I get in. Although yesterday during my “self-therapy” session (lol) I convinced myself that a Berkeley rejection is not the end of the world. There are plenty of benefits in not going to Cal. I a slight bit more relaxed about this whole thing now. I just want decisions to be out, though, so I can move on with my life and plan for the future.

You’re not going to get rejected from Cal. Not sure why you’re trying to be mentally prepared for it.
