I really want to be somewhere in the northeast, and i feel that all the schools I want to apply to (George Washington, Barnard, Sarah Lawrence, Boston University) are all reaches. I’m having a hard time finding a safety school, what do yall think?
I don’t think BU is a reach for you.
What are you looking for? Based on your list, it seems like you’d prefer:
- Urban setting
- The northeast
- Liberal arts or arts-y
I don’t think BU is a big reach for you, but for other matches/safeties consider Drexel, NYU, Temple, Bryn Mawr, Goucher, Quinnipiac, Pitt, Rutgers…if you’re okay with Canada, then McGill too.
What can you afford? I hope you know how expensive Sarah Lawrence is.
Yes those are exactly the qualities i’m looking for in a school and thank you for the suggestions, i’ll start looking at those schools right away! Not to sound spoiled or anything but money (especially regarding Sarah Lawrence, My mom and grandma both went there so they’re really pushing for me to go) is not really an issue, my parents have been saving for my college before I was born.
If you apply GW which is a match already then consider American as a safety
If you apply Barnard, then consider NYU
Sarah lawrence is a safety.
Other urban/ town schools: Temple; Trinity; Connecticut College; UMich is in a nice town; Syracuse; Union College is in a small city; Simmons; Marist; Clark U.;
NYU not a safety
Have you run the NPC on all of these, and discussed budget with our parents? That I’ll e your #1 criterion in making a list.
You’re smart to start looking for safeties now - and no school is a safety unless you can afford it.
Law school is expensive. Would the cost of undergraduate affect how much money you will have for law school?
