<p>I hear that PhD programs are much more competitive and harder to get into, but if you do get in, there is a significantly better chance of getting funding.</p>
<p>On the other hand, master's programs at the same schools are easier to get into but there is a significantly lower chance of securing funding.</p>
<p>So my question is, in you experience, where should a person apply to get funding? I have narrowed down about eight school that I want to get into (some more competitive than others). Should I apply to MS or PhD?</p>
<p>I initially planned on doing MS, working a few years, and then go back and get my Phd. But now money is a big concern.</p>
